About Westlake Dream Gates

Meet the Founder
Christoph “Chris” Weigl trained as an industrial and environmental engineer in Austria — structural analysis, construction and hydraulic engineering, measurement and control technology — then spent more than fifteen years in the global building materials industry across Austria, Spain, Germany, Colombia and California. He ran ready-mix and aggregates operations across Los Angeles, Ventura County and Santa Barbara: five plants, sixty people, three hundred customers. He founded Westlake Dream Gates in 2021.
“I spent my career in building materials, and I never got to point at the finished thing. A gate, you can point at — years later, still doing its job.”
It starts underground
Every gate is only as strong as the concrete it stands on. A beautiful gate on an undersized footing will sag, drag and fail, and no amount of hardware fixes it afterwards. So we size footings for the weight and wind load each gate will actually carry, and we would rather over-build a foundation than come back to a leaning post. After fifteen years around concrete, Chris knows exactly what it does over time — and what happens when it’s rushed.
That same thinking runs through the rest: hinges and operators matched to the leaf weight, slope and drainage checked before anything is fabricated, finishes chosen for the climate they’ll live in. It’s why our gates still swing true years later, why the American Fence Association has recognized our work three times, and why Chris now serves on the board of the California Fence Association, helping set standards for the trade across the state.
Built on Craftsmanship, Driven by Pride
Westlake Dream Gates was founded with a simple mission: to bring truly premium gate and fence craftsmanship to the Conejo Valley. We saw too many homeowners settling for rushed installations, cheap materials, and contractors who disappeared after cashing the check.
We do things differently. Every gate we build is engineered by our own team, fabricated with precision, and installed by our own crew — not subcontractors. We use only the highest-grade aluminum, steel, and automation hardware because your property deserves components that last.
As a licensed California CSLB #1088712 contractor, we handle the full scope — from custom design and engineering through permitting, HOA coordination, and final installation. Most estimates start with a simple phone call and a few photos.
