Your Local Gate & Fence Specialist in Agoura Hills

Agoura Hills

Agoura Hills sits at the western edge of the Santa Monica Mountains, next to Malibu Creek State Park and the Cheeseboro/Palo Comado canyons. The properties here reflect that range — equestrian ranch lots, walled hillside estates, and planned HOA communities where the entrance sets the tone before a visitor reaches the front door. We design, build, and install the aluminum driveway gates, automation systems, intercoms, ornamental ironwork, and pergolas that frame those entrances.

Every project is engineered for the specific conditions of the site, not pulled from a catalog. That means a different gate specification for a walled hillside lot than for an open equestrian property, and a different automation package for a long driveway than for a short one.

Services We Offer in Agoura Hills

What We Do

From custom fabrication to Agoura Hills permit compliance, we deliver gate and fencing solutions engineered for local terrain and architecture.

Permits and Approvals in Agoura Hills

Local Expertise

Gate and fence projects here move through two layers of review — the jurisdiction that governs the parcel, and (in most neighborhoods) the HOA’s architectural committee.

Jurisdiction

The City of Agoura Hills handles gate and fence permits through its Building & Safety Division. The city sits entirely within Los Angeles County, so there’s no dual-jurisdiction split — every property within city limits goes through the same building and safety review.

Gate Permit Application

A typical package includes a site plan and elevation drawings showing gate height and design, and — for automated gates — documentation of the operator and safety devices.

HOA Architectural Review

Many Agoura Hills neighborhoods — including Morrison Ranch, Lake Lindero, and Peacock Ridge — sit within an HOA whose architectural committee reviews gate and fence designs before construction. We prepare HOA-ready packages and coordinate with the committee on revisions.

Automated Gate Safety

Agoura Hills is served by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which may require photoelectric sensors, edge sensors, and a Knox box or key switch for emergency access on automated gates. We build to those requirements so the permit passes inspection without rework.

Neighborhoods We Serve in Agoura Hills

Service Area
Each neighborhood has its own character and constraints.

Lake Lindero

A resort-style community built around a private lake, with golf, boating, tennis, and a full clubhouse. Properties follow the Lake Lindero HOA’s architectural standards, with gate designs that tend toward classic and Mediterranean styles.

Peacock Ridge

Walled hillside properties with canyon views. Driveway grade often shapes the gate design.

Morrison Ranch

Suburban two-story homes on a planned street grid, primarily managed by the Morrison Ranch Estates HOA.

Old Agoura

Large equestrian lots — no HOA review.

I feel so lucky to have found Chris of Westlake Dream Gates! Am very picky about who I hire to work on my farm. He was kind, lovely to work with, professional and trustworthy in every way. When you find someone with this kind of ethic, and such high quality outcomes, keep their contact info in your "favorites" file. I've worked with Chris and his crew on two different projects now and will continue to do so in the future!

Dealt directly with owner Chris. He is very responsive and professional. Prices are very competitive. The finished product looks and functions great and is so much nicer and more solid than the vinyl gate we replaced. Very high quality gate and hardware. So much more secure than most gates. I feel like I have a side door more than a side gate. I have already recommended Chris and Westlake Dream Gates and will use them again.

Westlake Dream Gates installed fencing panels on our steep backyard hillside. It was truly a pleasure to work with Chris! He is honest, dependable, and very attentive. The materials used are high quality. He and his crew showed up everyday and cleaned up after. You can tell that his crew enjoys working with him. An overall great experience. Highly recommend.

It’s been a month since Westlake Dream Gates created and installed our custom gates (main gate and a second dog gate) and we are still incredibly happy with the decision to work with WDG for this project. We wanted to go with something sleek, modern, sturdy, eco-friendly, and different from the typical vinyl product in order to update the well-worn wood gates we had before, and WDG delivered on all of those fronts and then some. Because everything is cut-to-fit on-site, Chris and his team worked with us during the installation process to ensure we got the gate designs we wanted along with managing the specific constraints that the walkway presented for this project. They were able to accommodate last-minute design needs without compromising the end result. And the end result has been great! Our family and neighbors have been giving us compliments about it ever since the install! The soft-close feature on both gates has been fantastic in that the gates don’t slam shut, reducing the noise that slamming typically makes while preserving the lifespan of the gates—something the old gates could have really benefitted from. Both gates were also equipped with kick down door stoppers, which makes it a breeze for the pool guy to get his equipment into the backyard without banging the gates in the process. We highly recommend WDG, Chris, and his team and will definitely be in touch when we decide to update the remainder of our property’s fencing.

Yes. We manage the permitting process with the City of Agoura Hills Building & Safety Division, and we prepare HOA-ready submission packages — finished drawings, material and color specs, and renderings where required — for architectural committee review in neighborhoods like Morrison Ranch, Lake Lindero, and Peacock Ridge. We coordinate directly with the committee on revisions so you don’t have to.
It depends on the project:
  • Pedestrian gates — 1 to 2 days
  • Automating an existing driveway gate — 2 to 3 days
  • New driveway gates — 3 to 6 days
  • Fencing — typically 3 to 6 days, depending on the run length
Larger projects with extensive concrete or electrical work can take longer. We give you a clear schedule with your estimate.
